IELTS by Mercy provides IELTS preparation and learning services for students and other learners.
2. What Is a Cookie?
A cookie is a small file that a website stores in your browser. Cookies can help a website remember that you are logged in, remember a preference, or understand how a website is being used. Similar technologies, such as browser storage, can do some of the same things.
3. Cookies on the our Website
The Website is an informational WordPress website. It does not use its own login cookies or advertising/analytics cookies. The Contact page contains a Google Maps embed. When that map loads, your browser may communicate directly with Google and Google may place or read cookies or similar technologies under Google’s own policies.
4. Cookies on the Learning Learning Management System
The Learning Management System uses a small number of cookies and browser-storage items needed to provide the service and remember a display preference. The current items are: login cookie used for Student, Admin and Instructor accounts, and a cookie consent which records the cookie choice for 365 days.
5. Essential and Optional Technologies
Strictly necessary technologies are used only where they are needed for core functions such as secure login, security or a user-requested preference. Optional cookies or tracking technologies will not be introduced without the consent required by applicable law. A refusal option will be presented in a clear and comparable way where consent is required.
6. Third-Party Services
The Website’s Contact page includes an embedded Google Map. Loading the map may cause your browser to connect directly to Google and may allow Google to set or read cookies or similar technologies under Google’s own policies.
The Website also contains links to social media services. Simply seeing those links does not set a social-media cookie; the relevant third party controls its own technologies after you click through to its service.
IELTS by Mercy does not currently use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, or other advertising/tracking tools. If this changes, this Policy will be updated and any required consent will be obtained before non-essential tracking is used.
Course videos are streamed from Google Drive. When you play a video, your browser connects directly to Google’s systems. Google may use its own cookies or similar technologies. Those technologies are controlled by Google, not IELTS by Mercy. You should review Google’s current privacy and cookie information for details of its processing.
The same principle applies to any third-party service that may be added later, including booking, payment, analytics, social-media, video or communications services. This policy will be updated before or when a material change is introduced.
7. Your Choices
Where optional cookies are used, choose Accept, Reject/Decline, or manage preferences through the cookie notice.
Change your choices later through the site’s cookie settings where that feature is provided.
Use your browser settings to delete or block cookies. Blocking the Learning Management System login cookie will prevent you from staying signed in.
Changing browser settings does not necessarily stop third-party services such as Google from using technologies when you interact directly with them.
8. Consent
Where consent is required, it must be freely given, informed and specific. You are not required to accept optional cookies in order to browse the Website or use core platform functions. Withdrawing consent does not make earlier processing unlawful; it stops future optional processing where applicable.
9. Updates
We may update this Cookie Policy when our website, platform or third-party services change. The latest version and its effective date will be posted on the relevant site.
